Getting Started

I have this terrible habit of starting things and then just forgetting all about them about half way through. I could bore you with a hundred examples of this behavior, but that would be beside the point. I decided to create this blog to keep a record of my efforts in my quest for health and to, hopefully, keep myself focused.

Currently, I am doing an 8-week weight loss challenge with some friends. I have challenged myself to lose 8 pounds. Each week there are also mini challenges to accomplish. This week, my mini challenges are: 1. Walk 1 mile a day 2. Drink at least 100 ounces of water a day 3. Take my measurements.

So, with that in mind, I am going to start off my day (yeah, it's already noon, but I've been sick, so give me a break) by taking my measurements and my weekly weight.

Measurements (in inches):
Bust: 47.5
Chest: 41.75
Waist: 42
Hips: 50.75
Midway: 49.25
Left Thigh: 32
Right Thigh: 31
Left Knee: 18
Right Knee: 20
Left Calf: 18
Right Calf: 19
Left Arm: 16
Right Arm: 16
Left Forearm: 11.5
Right Forearm: 11.5

Weigh in: 229.8 lbs.

Well, that wasn't exactly fun, but hopefully that is the worst it is going to get!

So, I haven't yet had any water today and I haven't done any walking. With that in mind, I'm going to head out on foot to the local fruit market and grab the ingredients I need to make a yummy Tilapia Ceviche I saw on the Food Network! When I get home, I'll get started on the prep work for my Ceviche!
